Information

The exciting new Scorpa SY250F 4-Stroke was previewed at the French World Round, and has proved itself in a strong first showing in the SSDT. It was also the first of the new generation 4 strokes to be Top 10 at it's first International Trial. Based on the Yamaha YZ-250F engine, a liquid cooled, double overhead cam, 5 valve engine, it has been heavily modified for trials. Modifications include trials specific transmission, flywheel, clutch, ignition, etc. The totally new frame uses chromoly steel tubing linked to a forged billet aluminum sub-frame , technology found in the Aerospace and Formula 1 industries. The new, 700 gram lighter, swingarm uses extruded honeycomb billet aluminum linked to a new Paoli rear shock. The brakes are a new design, with a 182 mm diameter floating disc up front, and 144 mm non-floating disc on the rear. The new discs have been increased in thickness to improve braking performance and reduce noise. The front forks are a new Paoli design, and significantly lighter than the previous model.

The handlebar and footpeg mounts have variable positioning, allowing them to be moved forward and backward to suit the riders preference. The bike also has a new airbox and filter design, using a cotton air filter element as found in Formula 1 racing. The aluminum dual exhaust looks straight out of World Superbikes with it's underseat design wrapped in black protectors.. The unique design feature utilizes the exhaust as the rear subframe, to add strength and save weight.

The 2007 model has new brake pedal, new muffler, new swingarm modifications, and new electronic components. It has performance mods to the Intake system for more sustained bottom end response, a new clutch pack increasing feel and 'bite', and new Graphics which enhance it's elegant lines and purposeful stance. The Scorpa Team have gone all out to make this the yardstick by which all trials bikes will be judged.
